Scarlet tanagers

A yellow bird, then a red, swarming around getting pieces of pine straw, leaf, plastic, cotton, and vine. I was standing beside the tree looking up at the beautiful site, I ran to go get my mother,(talking on the phone).
As I stood looking at a little bowl of pine straw being made, my heart pounded with joy I could not believe that over all the trees in my yard they picked the one right outside my bedroom window! A few days later they were done building there nest and within a week all eggs were laid, soon they hatched. It took them a wile to grow up but every day I could watch the dad or mom feed them insects. After a couple of weeks the baby's fleged! At first we had thought they had fallen out of the nest and my dad got on top of his work van to put them back. Soon, the baby birds were flying, one with the mom, one with the dad.
this is one of the baby scarlet tanagers getting ready to fly!
